On road trips I keep frequently-used things on the front passenger seat. This body-contoured passenger seat does not have a flat surface for holding things, so I made a "leveling shelf" to solve the problem.
The shelf has been covered with non-skid fabric used to secure rugs on slippery floors. Duct tape attaches the fabric to the shelf. I intentionally made the shelf "not quite level."
