PORSCHE 914 and VW parts?

Hi, i own a 1972 Porsche 914 and i want to ask the following: Apart from the VW engine on the 4-cylinder cars, are there any other parts shared with other VW models? Specifically i am looking for shock absorbers and exhaust system. Thanks

Yes. The VC joints are from the transporter, and almost everything except the transaxle is shared with some VW. The type IV used the same muffler I believe. The later air cooled type II, such as 1979, had a nice 2.0 liter engine with hydraulic lifters
