should there be mold in the house air filter?

we are replacing the filter for the house and there was mold growing in the plastic that holds the filer. Is this normal? PS. This is the first time we have changed it since a Co. came out and "clean everything including the mold" out of the

If you have mold growing anywhere then it is a sign of excessive moisture in the house. I don't know where you live, but you may try leaving a window cracked open on both sides of the room/home for cross ventilation. Or you may try an inexpensive dehumidifier.
