On a 12 volt upgrade from 6V where does the 1 wire alternator wire go so it charges the battery.?

I have a 1950 ford f-1 and I upgraded it to 12 volt and it runs great. However it doesnt charge the battery because the battery keeps dieing. Right now i have everything wired as it was in the 6V way with the 1 wire from the alternator hooking in the
You can't charge a 12 volt battery with a six volt generator.
