Why do they make two size oil filters for chevy 305 and chevy 350 for 80s models?
There is a longer one and a shorter oil filter. Not sure why but I have always used the longer one.

Dear Tom,
When should I get a tune up for my 2007 Chevy Equinox? I bought it brand new off the lot and it now has 67,000 miles. I've changed the oil as recommended by the Oil Life Monitor.

Bruno,
There is no specific tune up schedule for your vehicle. As a matter of fact, you will find no reference to "Tune Up" in the maintenance schedule; however, it suggests changing the spark plugs at 100,000 miles, a practice I do not subscribe to. I would remove the plugs every 25,000 miles, inspect, clean, and re-gap them. Then apply never-seize compound to the threads and reinstall them, properly torqing them according to manufacturer's specs. Make sure to change the air filters and breather elements according to manufacturer's specs as well, and continue to follow the dictates of your OLM when changing the oil. This regimen will keep your chariot in tip-top running condition for many miles to come. Success to you.

Anyone who arrived thinking they were going to spend an hour staring up at the underbelly of a '57 Chevy, releasing oil plugs with an oversized socket wrench and catching the spent 10W-40 in a bucket using a massive funnel — well, that person can be |
