Is it possible to wash an ordinary car engine air filter?
I wonder if it is possible to wash in soap and water or else in solvent, then let dry? I bought a new filter but it was $20.
Will this clear it out or make it more restrictive?
No you can't wash it
but to extend the life of a air filter you can clean it by blowing all the dust out of it with compressed air
blowing the air filter in the opposite direction to the normal air flow through the filter, ie: from the inside
