Question about K&N air filter installation and maintenance?

I went and got a K&N filter today for my Ford Taurus and tossed out the Motorcraft one.
The instructions kind of confused me as well as the guy at the parts store.
I installed the rubber gasket around the inside, locked the filter in

when they say charged, they mean already oiled your filter. did u buy a recharge kit?. it has the spray oil and cleaner . if not u need to buy one.
